The physical exhibition at The Danish Museum of Photography is closed
The governing body for The Danish Museum of Photography has decided to close the physical exhibition with effect from the 17th of December 2017.
Due to a 80 % cut in the public expenditure from Herning Municipality, the governing body has been unable to find a sensible and economic responsible way of running the physical exhibition of the museum.
The governing body has been negotiating with many other municipalities and exhibition venues trying to establish a cooperation based on a financially stable foundation. Unfortunately, all efforts has ended with a negative result.
The museum’s core collection has been placed in a secure storeroom, in the hope of finding a new location for The Danish Museum of Photography in a new and modern version.
The governing body will continue searching for new solutions – including unconventional directions, in order to give The Danish Museum of Photography a new home with a modern exhibition.
